Genevieve Rimer leads a portfolio of five interconnected domains at CEO, all focused on advancing workforce equity and improving reentry outcomes. Her work includes inclusive hiring initiatives that support employers in hiring people with convictions; intermediary efforts that help community-based organizations draw down and maximize public funding; and the direction of technical assistance for community-based organizations and government officials strengthening workforce and reentry systems. Her portfolio also includes facilitating reentry-focused cash distribution initiatives that promote economic stability, as well as the development and implementation of practical, human-centered tools designed for people while incarcerated to support preparation, agency, and continuity through reentry.
She holds a Doctorate in Social Work from the University of Southern California, grounding her leadership in evidence-informed and community-driven practice. Although it has not always been this way, one of Genevieve’s most prized identities today is being formerly incarcerated—an experience that deeply informs her work, strengthens her credibility, and anchors her commitment to building systems rooted in dignity, access, and lived expertise.
